With the COVID-19 pandemic we are attempting to increase our patients awareness of e-visits or electronic visits (telemedicine). This is a remote way to provide patient care, that is an approved service by most insurances. We are thrilled to offer this option to you.
Step 1 (Obtain Portal Access)
Many of you have already completed this step. If you do not have access to our portal, YourHealthFile, please call (586)372-3500 to request access or click here to send a message to the office. We will manually send you an email link. You can also obtain a printed username and password if you would like.
Step 2 (Pick and Prep a Device)
You will need to access YourHealthFile through a device that supports both audio and video.
Use FaceTime on iPhones/iPads or Skype (click to download) for other devices, and bypass health portal. If you are not using the portal please let us know.
If possible use Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Allow the use of the camera & microphone on your device.
Step 3 (Login, Check-in, and Begin)
Prior to signing in if you are able check any vital signs that is very helpful. These include a heart rate (how to check your pulse), weight, temperature, and pulse ox. If you are not able to check these that is okay.
Sign into YourHealthFile.
We suggest Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
Please call the office if nobody has joined your encounter within 10 minutes of your appointment time.
In addition to your computer or telephone the following items might helpful:
The use of a headset may help this. In addition, when volume is set to loud can cause abnormal feedback. Please also make sure that you have allowed camera and microphone access.
So far we have found that using your cell phone seems to work the best.
Try clearing your cache and cookies. Just make sure you're not going to lose anything important.
